History
Thuthuka is a strong growing, young shoot deeply rooted in many years of experience in the respective fields. It is a successor of a South African company specialising in small business development with training programmes and consultancy services mainly focussing on leadership and business skills for SMEs. Also, it provided business development services to German companies seeking to expand into South Africa. In Britain, it started in September 2003 as Thuthuka and was incorporated in March 2004. To accommodate the computerisation trend amongst SMEs, Thuthuka Ltd portfolio now includes IT development and support services.
Directors
Gunda Bernhardt: Marketing and Sales Director, seeks to equip SMEs with tools to improve and grow their businesses in Europe and Africa. This passion was kindled in South Africa where she worked many years to evaluate the impact of training, to develop a business game and training programmes for the informal and small business sector. At the same time, she build strong business relationships with leading South African companies mainly in the IT sector to develop markets for German companies. Gunda has a Dipl. Betriebswirt degree (Fachhochschule Cologne, Germany) and a MSc in Entrepreneurial Studies (Stirling University, UK).
Peter Wise: IT Director, has many years of experience in system engineering as well as building computer systems and networks to customer specifications in South Africa and Britain. This makes him a bit of a generalist facilitating the provision of solutions that are adapted to our client's current needs but leave scope for future growth. However, his area of speciality is document management and publishing systems. Recognising the gap between the need of SMEs to manage documents of all kinds and types and the cost of acquisition and ownership. Thuthuka is in the process to develop some revolutionary products in this area.
